When planning their wedding, Noe and Rogelio knew that they wanted their guests to be transported to another world and to make the event as special as possible. The wedding took place in the Yucatan jungle at an ancient hacienda that looked like it was consumed by nature in an elegant and rustic manner. Fire dancers lit the stage as the guests danced and dined under the moon in the candle-lit hacienda. To honor their Mexican heritage, Noe and Rogelio decided that they needed something undeniably Mexican as the cake topper. When preparing for the big day, they stopped at a market in Merida and found two elegant “calaveras” (skulls in Spanish), that paired with the theme of the event and their cultural backgrounds perfectly. The two calaveras were at the top of their almond cake and were a centerpiece of one the most special evenings of their lives.
